As the old saying goes, “practice makes perfect.” But actually that’s not quite right. Perfect practice makes perfect. If you practice wrong – swinging at balls out of the strike zone, letting the ball play you – then you only get good at those bad habits. You can try to polish your skills during team workouts and scrimmages, but in a team setting it can be hard to find the time and proper information needed to effectively build your skills.
And that’s where our EL1-on-1 Lessons can help.
With customized training-and-progression plans developed by our team of instructors in collaboration with athletes and parents, you can really focus on the areas of the game that YOU want to work on – anything from opposite-field hitting to hitting the edges of the strike zone, pitching from the stretch to stretching your infield range.
We do it all in our state-of-the-art indoor facilities, where there are never any rain delays and where our unique instructional system of teaching, technique and technology creates the perfect environment for building both skills and confidence.

What do you think young people learn from participating in team sports that will help them off the field for the rest of their lives?
“How to be a part of something that is bigger than themselves and understand that for the team to succeed everyone must do their part.
How to compete and deal with failure or success, and continue to compete regardless of which one you experience.”
What is the best piece of advice you ever got from a coach?
“My assistant coach in Junior College brought his dog out to the field one day and was shaking the ball in front of his dog’s face. He told us, ‘As infielders you have got to want the ball as bad as this dog.’ Then he threw the ball and the dog chased after it with 100% effort. That was something that clicked with me, and I took with me the rest of my career as the mentality that good infielders have, they want the ball!”
What is something you do extremely well as an instructor that people might be surprised to hear or learn?
“I would say that I am personable during instruction. I do a good job of relating to players and having a conversation about what is going on during the instruction.”

What do you think young people learn from participating in team sports that will help them off the field for the rest of their lives?
“It teaches what hard work and dedication as well as focus leads to. Getting that step ahead as an athlete will put you a step ahead in the real world.”
What is something you do extremely well as an instructor that people might be surprised to hear or learn?
“I can provide a current player’s perspective and a feel for my body’s motion. Therefore, I have a great understanding of how to verbalize ideas and concepts to another player.”
